Mr. Bonning

Mr. Bonning is a social studies teacher in Honolulu, HI. He teaches at St. Francis school which is located in the beautiful Manoa Valley, just mauka of The University of Hawaii. Mr. Bonning grew up in Carpinteria, CA which is located just south of Santa Barbara on the Pacific Ocean. His parents are also both teachers and they still live in Carpinteria. Mr. Bonning's hobbies include: surfing, reading, paddleboarding, camping, cycling, and listening to music.

Mr. Bonning went to Santa Clara University for college where he studied political science and environmental studies. While at SCU he was a member of the club volleyball team and a member of the SCU Green Club. He continued his education at The University of Hawaii Where he received a masters degree in Geography. His thesis looked at tourism discourses in the Waikiki Historic Trail.

Since graduating from UH Mr. Bonning has worked at St. Francis. He has taught many different classes including: 7th grade geography, 9th grade ancient world history, 12th grade psychology, 12th grade, street law, 12th grade AP government and politics, and 12th grade global issues inquiry. He is also the social studies department chair, senior homeroom adviser, faculty adviser to the Asian Club, and SO adviser.
